  1. For our current work, its provisional acceptance as a believable supply of the titanium dioxide/silica pigment is based on its visual look, scale, and geographic location in the area of Tacna in southern Peru, as reported on-line. This area, traversed by a community of titanium glasses imperial roads linking the highlands to the coast and connecting administrative facilities and settlements, was heavily exploited by the Inka for its rich mineral assets . Scanning electron microscopy combined with energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometry (SEM/EDS) was utilized in one instance to characterize pattern morphology. This method was designed to build upon knowledge from the sooner survey and upon proof supplied by intensive conservation examinations that ruled out the presence of restoration in the areas sampled . To support the chronological interpretation of the pigment knowledge, samples of wood from two of the qeros were submitted for radiocarbon age determination.
